What a DEXA Scan Measures
A DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) body composition scan reports:
Total and regional body fat
Lean tissue mass
Visceral fat
Left-to-right lean tissue differences
Bone measurements as part of the body composition report
The scan takes about six minutes. Your results review helps you understand your baseline and use follow-up scans to track changes over time.
DEXA SF is located inside Custom Fit at 323 Octavia Street. Registered Dietitians or Exercise Physiologists explain your report and discuss how the findings relate to your fitness and nutrition goals.
